Overnight and Inpatients
You may need to stay in the hospital if you are having complicated or major surgery. You may also need to stay if you have complex medical problems or if are going to be alone at home. You may need fluid therapy and medical management. It also allows the use of the various pain management techniques to help control the pain of surgery. Staying in hospital will allow us to provide you with the safest and best care possible.
The nurses will assess you with regards to your vital systems and pain levels. You may also need physiotherapy.
Dr Lim may need to visit you to assess the effectiveness and safety of the specialised pain techniques. Dr Lim will participate in your hospital care for 24 hours or for as long as the pain technqiues are in use. He will be mainly involved in your pain management and the treatment of nauesa and vomiting.
