Pre-anaesthetic Assessments

 

We strongly encourage you to download and complete the pre-anaesthetic forms and submit them to our offices.  With the information in the pre-anaesthetic forms,  Dr Lim will be able assess your health status in planning your anaesthetic.

If you are fit and healthy and having minor or uncomplicated surgery, it may be appropriate for you to be assessed on the day of surgery.

Patients for major or complicated surgery or have complex medical problems may require an appointment in our clinics for a more extensive pre-anaesthetic assessment.  Please contact our rooms as soon as you have received a date for your surgery.

 

Your pre-anaesthetic consultation will include an assessment of your current or past medical history. It may require a physical examination.  If possible, please bring a list of your regular medications and any results of tests or documentation from your doctors regarding your surgery.  At times, further investigations such as blood tests, electrocardiograms (ECG) or other imaging may be required. 

 

Please bring your regular medications and medical devices (such as CPAP machines) to the clinic or hospital.
